Fast Fact
November 16 is "Great American Smokeout Day." On this day smokers are encouraged to make a plan to quit smoking. While smoking increases the risk of many cancers, its effect on breast cancer is still under study. Although, there is growing evidence that smoking may slightly increase the risk of breast cancer.

Research Spotlight - New MetsBC Drug FDA Approved
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently approved the drug abemaciclib (Verzenio) for the treatment of hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative metastatic breast cancers that have progressed during past hormone therapy. Learn more about metastatic breast cancer treatment.

Congratulations, BigWigs! And Thank You!
Our 2017 BigWigs class (for both the DFW and Wichita Falls areas) fundraised for 6 weeks for Komen North Texas during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and raised a combined $53,751.5! Thank you to our hard-working BigWigs and to everyone who donated to their pages!

Make a Difference Day Volunteers Make 184 Blankets!
Thank you to all of the volunteers who showed up to Make a Difference Day in McKinney and made 184 no-sew fleece blankets, which we presented to our grantees to provide to breast cancer survivors who are undergoing treatment. Thank you for volunteering!

Barre for Breast Cancer Awareness
SunstoneFit Preston Town Crossing is proud to support the local fight against breast cancer through its Barre for Breast Cancer Awareness event on Saturday, November 18, 2017. 100% of all cash donations collected the week before and the day of the class will be donated to Komen North Texas.

#GivingTuesday - November 28th
#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season. Learn more about how you can give.

Bank of America Pink Ribbon Banking
For each new Pink Ribbon credit card benefiting Susan G. Komen opened, Komen receives a minimum of $3 and 0.08% of all net retail purchases made with the card. For example, 8 cents for every $100. Komen also receives $3 for each renewal of a card that was in good standing during the 12 month period and does not have a zero balance at the time of the renewal. For more information, click here.

Calling All Crafters
If you love scrapbooking, decoupage, hot glue, and paint, you'd love the Elizabeth's Garden Committee! We're looking for individuals to help us decorate tulips and butterflies that are purchased and then placed in Elizabeth's Garden on Race day.
