Did You Know While data shows that breast cancer incidence rates tend to be lower for Hispanic/Latina women compared to white women, Hispanic/Latina women are more likely to be diagnosed at a later stage than white women.  Learn more.

Research Spotlight

On Tuesday, Komen announced $31 million in 2017 funding for 98 new breast cancer research grants, with a focus on aggressive and metastatic cancers.  Texas researchers received nearly $3.5 million of that funding.  Learn more.

There are lots of great ways to join Komen North Texas and show that you're More Than Pink® this October (and year-round!).  Whether you advocate, donate, or participate, you can make a real difference in the fight against breast cancer.  Consider hosting your own fundraising event, inviting Komen North Texas to host a breast health lunch and learn at your office, or signing up for the Wichita Falls Race for the Cure.  No step is too small in the fight against breast cancer.  Remember - it all adds up!

This year marks the 17th anniversary of Wacoal’s Fit for the Cure® program benefiting Susan G. Komen®! For every woman who gets a professional bra fitting at an event, Wacoal will donate $2 to Komen (no purchase is necessary). Wacoal will also donate $2 to Komen for every Wacoal bra, shapewear item or b.tempt’d bra purchased at these events with a guaranteed minimum donation of $250,000 in 2017.  Learn more.

Bank of America Pink Ribbon Banking

For each new Pink Ribbon credit card benefiting Susan G. Komen opened, Komen receives a minimum of $3 and 0.08% of all net retail purchases made with the card.  For example, 8 cents for every $100.  Komen also receives $3 for each renewal of a card that was in good standing during the 12 month period and does not have a zero balance at the time of the renewal.  For more information, click here.

Calling All Crafters

If you love scrapbooking, decoupage, hot glue, and paint, you'd love the Elizabeth's Garden Committee!  We're looking for individuals to help us decorate tulips and butterflies that are purchased and then placed in Elizabeth's Garden on Race day.  For examples of last year's tulips and butterflies, click here.  If you're interested in joining, please email volunteer@komennorthtexas.org.
